3 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup cocoa powder 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt
2 cups hot water 3/4 cup vegetable oil 2 Tbsp. white vinegar 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl and mix well. Mix wet ingredients in separate bowl. Add wet to dry and whisk. Pour into 2 (lightly greased) 8-inch round cake pans. Bake 35-40 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then remove and finish cooling on baker's rack.
